THE 23 rd ANNUAL AUSTRALIAN ENTERTAINMENT MO AWARDS
For Excellence in Live Performance - The Sydney Entertainment Centre
The 'MO' Awards were celebrated with a glamorous, high profile dinner at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Tuesday 23 June. Originally christened by Don Lane as The 'MO' Awards (after Australia's greatest clown and comic, Roy Rene, best known and loved as his character 'MO' McCackie) they are the most prestigious Awards in Australian live entertainment. The Inaugural 'MO' Awards were held in 1976, with the late Johnny O'Keefe as Chairman of the Awards Committee. The Annual 'MO' Awards are the culmination of months of exhaustive national voting and selection procedures by some two hundred Expert Panellists, to establish five final nominees in each category, and ultimately the winner in each category.
